The 2022 Loma Alta Pinot Noir is beautiful and expressive, with aromas of blood orange and dried flowers, and a bright core of blue fruit and elegant chalky tannins across the whole palate. Loma Alta, "tall hill" in Spanish, is a parcel near the top of the Rinconada Vineyard. This rocky slope has northwestern exposure and excellent drainage. The combination of its weathered shaley loam soil and the aspect of this parcel usually offers a broody and decidedly more introspective wine.
