Sanford Block 4D Pinot Noir

First Release!
THE STORY
Our newest single block Pinot Noir comes from our first planting of the distinctive Dijon clone, 943, at the iconic Sanford & Benedict Vineyard. A clone with small berries, 943 makes a densely concentrated wine with great balance. This Pinot selection has an intriguing blend of floral and exotic fruits along with complex, savory notes.
PROFILE & WINEMAKING
Dark ruby in color, with deep, brooding aromas of blueberry and pomegranate, with hints of rose petal and lavender, this is both intense and complex. The flavors burst onto the palate enveloped in supple, ripe tannins. The impeccably balanced acidity keeps the wine lively to its lengthy finish. Night harvesting, gentle destemming, gentle fermention in an open top tank and barrel aging in the finest French oak barrels are some of the classic Burgundian techniques employed to craft this lovely wine.
