Sanford Block 5 Pinot Noir

THE STORY
Block 5 is a steep, rocky, north facing slope of the renowned Sanford & Benedict Vineyard. This parcel is planted to Dijon Clone 777 on 101-14 rootstock. The distinctive characteristics of Block 5 warrant this exclusive, small-production bottling.
PROFILE & WINEMAKING
Cherry, tobacco and cedar jump from the glass in this earthy, savory Pinot Noir. The palate is full, bright and balanced with lingering dark fruits and spice, framed by supple tannins. Classic Burgundian winemaking techniques, including fermentation in an open top tank and gentle punch downs, were employed to craft this beauty. This club favorite was aged in the finest French oak barrels for 16 months before bottling. Only 10 barrels produced.
