Sanford Founders Vines Pinot Noir

THE STORY
It all started with a pioneering vision to grow world class Pinot Noir in a remote coastal region of California that was long considered far too cool to ripen wine grapes. Fortunately, the founders, Michael Benedict and Richard Sanford, had the determination and perseverance in establishing the Sanford & Benedict Vineyard in 1971. As the stewards of this iconic property, we have tremendous respect for what these partners accomplished, and from one of the original, own-rooted plantings of Pinot Noir, we are proud to share the 2014 Founders’ Vines Pinot Noir, the fourth vintage of our most prestigious, limited release wine.
PROFILE & WINEMAKING
We selected just 9 barrels for this elegant, savory, complex and well-balanced Pinot. The bright, silky palate delivers bright, earthy red fruits, framed nicely by acidity and supple tannins. It is quite simply a beautiful wine and we are delighted to be able to honor the inspiration of the Founders so gracefully.
